The Liston Park Rugby Clubroom project required the expertise of Green Way Limited to handle the demolition and remediation of the site. The primary challenge was to safely demolish the existing building while removing all asbestos as per the provided report, capping off existing drainage services, and removing both the existing transformer and an inground fuel tank. The project was situated in a community sports park, necessitating careful management of public interaction to ensure safety and minimal disruption. The client, Auckland Council, aimed to achieve sustainable redevelopment goals with a high standard of environmental compliance and safety.

Green Way Limited carried out a comprehensive demolition and remediation plan for the Liston Park Rugby Clubroom site. The process began with the safe removal of asbestos from all areas identified in the report, followed by the systematic demolition of the existing building. Additionally, the team successfully capped off existing drainage services and removed both the existing transformer and the inground fuel tank. Post-demolition, the area underwent extensive remediation, including carpark repairs and stabilisation, hydro seeding, and the provision of a topographic survey plan. Throughout the project, Green Way maintained exceptional health and safety standards and managed public interactions courteously and effectively. Notably, despite an approved variation of $28,000 attributable to a third party, Green Way completed the project six days ahead of the planned completion date.
“I was the Project Manager representing Auckland council on the Liston Park, deconstruction job. I experienced Green Way to be a competent, professional contractor, who managed their contract responsibilities, health and safety and reporting to a high standard. The worksite was in a community sports park and required some management of the public. I found that the onsite staff and the project supervisor dealt with public interaction with courtesy and in a constructive manner.
Modest variation costs were incurred and attributable to a third party. The contract required resource recovery reporting. These reports and all information were provided in a timely manner and the approximate 80% of material diverted from landfill was a positive outcome and in line with Councils sustainability objectives. I would be happy to work with Green Way on future project works.”
